Not everyone who asks is a suitable candidate, and we will tell you straight if you are not. Suitability depends on your general health, your eye health and what you are hoping the surgery will do.
Cost
The figure you are given at your consultation is the figure you pay. No separate consultation fee, no theatre fee, no follow-up fee added afterwards.
What happens
It starts with a free video call with the surgeon, not a form-filling appointment with a consultant who does not operate.
A video call with Dr Ouali. He looks at your eyelids, explains what he would do and what he would not, covers the risks, and gives you your price.
Nothing is booked on the call. If you go ahead, a 50% deposit holds your date, or you can pay in full. Face-to-face beforehand can be arranged, and is charged separately.
Around 60 minutes, under local anaesthetic. You are awake and comfortable throughout, and you go home a short while afterwards. Arrange a lift rather than driving.
Sutures come out at around a week, the wounds are checked, and you get scar care advice. Bruising settles over one to two weeks.

Blepharoplasty is a small operation, but it is an operation. Dr Ouali will go through all of this with you before you decide anything, and you will be given it in writing to take away.

Most of Dr Ouali’s eyelid work is upper lid surgery. Lower eyelid surgery is taken on selectively, only where he is confident of a good result, so it is assessed case by case at consultation.
Yes. Upper blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthetic, so the area around your eyes is completely numb but you stay awake. There is no general anaesthetic and no overnight stay.
Most people take between nothing and five days, depending on how visible their job is. Swelling and bruising usually settle over one to two weeks. Avoid strenuous activity for four weeks.
The incision sits inside the natural crease of the lid, so once healed it is hidden when your eyes are open. Scars fade over several months. They do not disappear entirely, and how they settle varies between people.
Upper blepharoplasty is long lasting and many people are happy with the result ten years later or more. It does not stop you ageing, so gradual change over time is normal.
Occasionally. If sagging upper lids are genuinely obstructing your field of vision, some areas will fund surgery, and your GP can tell you the criteria where you live. Where it is done for appearance, it is not NHS funded.
We treat adults over 18 only. There is no upper age limit as such. What matters is your general health, your eye health and whether your expectations match what the surgery can realistically achieve.
